Scam financial services website: Crypto Window Ltd (the Scam Entity)
Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998, as amended (FS(J)L)
Proceeds of Crime (Supervisory Bodies) (Jersey) Law 2008 (Supervisory Bodies Law)
The Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) issues this public statement pursuant to Article 25(d) of the FS(J)L and Article 26(c) of the Supervisory Bodies Law.
This statement is made in order to warn members of the public against dealing with unauthorised financial service and/or specified Schedule 2 business providers and to advise the public of the Scam Entity, which it appears is using the Website to purport that it is registered in Jersey. The Scam Entity has not received authorisation to conduct, financial service business and/or specified Schedule 2 business within the meaning of the FS(J)L and the Supervisory Bodies Law.
From documentation held by the JFSC it appears that the Scam Entity is currently, falsely, purporting to be located at the address of Channel House, Green Street, St Helier, Jersey, JE2 4UH and is carrying on, or holding out that it is carrying on, financial service business and specified Schedule 2 in Jersey (accountancy and cryptocurrency services) when it is not authorised to do so pursuant to the provisions of the FS(J)L and the Supervisory Bodies Law.
The JFSC wishes the following to be known:
- The Scam Entity has never been registered, nor applied for registration, under the FS(J)L or the Supervisory Bodies Law. Therefore any financial services business, as defined in Article 2 of the FS(J)L carried out by the Scam Entity, is in breach of Article 7(1) of the FS(J)L. Furthermore any specified Schedule 2 business, carried out by the Scam Entity, is in breach of Article 10 of the Supervisory Bodies Law.
- From documentation held by the JFSC, it appears the Scam Entity and the Website display warning signs of being set up for a fraudulent purpose.
Any person who has had dealings with the Scam Entity or Website is requested to contact the JFSC.
All regulated businesses in Jersey are listed on our website.
