Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998, as amended (the "Financial Services Law")

The Jersey Financial Services Commission (the "Commission") issues this public statement under Article 25(d) of the Financial Services Law.

This statement is made in order to warn the public against dealing with unauthorised financial service providers and to advise the public of a website blackpearl-asia.com (the "Website") and email address info@blackpearl-asia.com (the "Email Address"), which purports to represent Black Pearl Insurance (Jersey) PCC. The entity purporting to represent Black Pearl Insurance (Jersey) PCC, namely the Website and the Email Address (the "Scam Black Pearl), has not received authorisation to conduct financial service business within the meaning of the Financial Services Law.

It appears that the Scam Black Pearl is carrying on, or holding out that it is carrying on, financial business in Jersey when it is not authorised to do so pursuant to the provisions of the Financial Services Law.

The Commission wishes the following to be known:

1. The Scam Black Pearl, the Website and Email Address are not connected in anyway to Black Pearl Insurance (Jersey) PCC, an entity forming part of the Vantage Limited group of companies. In Jersey, Black Pearl Insurance (Jersey) PCC and Vantage Limited is located at No 3 The Forum, Grenville Street, St. Helier, Jersey JE2 4UF and has a postal address of PO Box 420, St. Helier, Jersey JE4 0WQ.

2. The Scam Black Pearl has never been registered, nor applied for registration, under the Financial Services Business Law. Therefore any financial service business, as defined in Article 2 of the Financial Services Law and carried out by the Scam Black Pearl since 21 January 2005, is in breach of Article 7 of the Financial Services Law;

3. From documentation held by the Commission, the Scam Black Pearl, the Website and the Email Address display the warning signs of being set up for a fraudulent purpose.

All regulated businesses in Jersey are listed on our website.

Any person who has had dealings with the Scam Black Pearl is requested to contact the Commission.
