Fintech 2020 and beyond

Taking a look at 2020 and beyond, we will:

On-island

  • continue helping emerging business models and technology businesses to navigate the regulatory framework, by enhancing our Innovation Hub to provide businesses with more clarity on:
    • our expectations, inclusive of what information we need at what stage
    • helpful tips (such as managing time-frames, expectations regarding correspondence or engagement, and ‘what happens after authorisation’)
    • frequently asked questions

All of which should improve the quality of enquiries and assist with streamlining the process.

  • continue being available one day a month at the Digital Jersey Hub together with a representative from the Registry for on-site support to Digital Jersey and Jersey Finance Members
  • continue working with on-island stakeholders with regards to Digital Jersey’s Fintech Roadmap
  • monitor the evolving landscape for insights into introducing a ‘Virtual Asset Service Provider’ regime in Jersey
  • explore new ways of working with Industry on new products
  • complete our review of KYC on-boarding options for Jersey.

Off-island

  • continue to contribute to the Global Financial Innovation Network inclusive of Jersey’s participation in any further cross-border pilots and sharing lessons learned in the Regtech space
  • continuing to build relationships with the international regulatory community.
