Register a Jersey partnership

Partnership name

You can choose either a reserved name or a proposed name to start your partnership registration.

Reserved name

To reserve a name

log in to myRegistry
select 'start new submission'
select 'register partnership'
select 'reserved name'.
Enter your reserved name / number. If entering the reserved number you must start with 'RN'.

Proposed name

To register a partnership without reserving a name:

Log in to myRegistry
select 'start new submission'
select 'register partnership'
select 'proposed name'

Selecting this option will extend the time it takes to process the registration. This will increase the service level time by one working day.

Register a limited partnership

To register:

log in to myRegistry
select 'start new submission'
select 'register partnership

A limited partnership must have at least one general partner, whose liability is unlimited, and at least one limited partner, who is liable up to the amount they have contributed. General partners actively manage the partnership, whilst limited partners act as passive investors. Partners may be a company or an individual.

You must upload the signed declaration below within your submission.

Make a change to a limited partnership

To make a change:

go to your portfolio
select the partnership you want to make the change to
select 'start new submission'
select the relevant form

Register a limited liability partnership

To register:

log in to myRegistry
select 'start new submission'
select 'register partnership

Limited liability partnerships do not have a general partner, instead all partners have limited liability. This allows all partners to take a more active role in the management of the company.

You must upload the signed declaration below within your submission.

Register a separate limited partnership

To register:

select 'register partnership'

A separate limited partnership is considered to have a separate legal personality and is able to hold rights, assume obligations, transact and sue or be sued in its own name or the name of the general partner.

You must upload the signed declaration below within your submission.

Register an incorporated limited partnership

To register:

An incorporated limited partnership is also considered to have a separate legal personality, but unlike traditional limited partnerships and separate limited partnerships, it is incorporated.
