Our improved approach to examinations
We have recently revised our approach to examinations, following your feedback and the recommendations from the MONEYVAL Mutual Evaluation Report.
To make our examination reports and outcomes clearer, we have:
- added risk ratings to reports using a new methodology
- simplified reports to make them easier to understand
- reviewed and developed our risk-based approach to assessing examination outcomes
Including risk ratings in reports will support you in prioritising high-risk areas for remediation and how we may respond. We have also developed our approach to assessing whether an examination's outcome is potentially serious.

The enhancements will enable us to achieve consistency in our assessment of firms and support us in delivering risk-based supervision.
