Consultation on changes to our AML/CFT Handbooks
Last month, we announced we would be consulting Industry on proposed changes to our AML/CFT Handbooks. We have now launched our consultation with the deadline for feedback on 7 January 2022. Feedback should be shared either with us directly, or Jersey Finance.
View the proposed Consolidated Handbook.
Our proposal
- Merge our existing Handbook for regulated financial services business, Handbook for the accountancy sector, Handbook for the legal sector and Handbook for estate agents and high value dealers into one Consolidated Handbook
- Extend the scope of the AML/CFT Codes of Practice and guidance notes to cover all supervised persons
- Add new AML/CFT Codes of Practice in respect of electronic identification (E-ID), electronic statements/utility bills and certification of documents.
Why we are proposing these changes
Last month Pia Holm, a Senior Adviser from our Policy team recorded a short video to explain in more detail why we are making these changes and what it may mean for you and your business.
