The JFSC issues this statement under Article 25(d) of the FS(J)L, Article 48(2)(c) of the BB(J)L and Article 26(c) of the Supervisory Bodies Law.
This statement is to warn members of the public against dealing with unauthorised financial service providers. The impersonating entity is not registered to conduct deposit-taking business, financial service business or Schedule 2 business in Jersey within the meaning of the FS(J)L, BB(J)L and Supervisory Bodies Law.
From documentation held by the JFSC, the impersonating entity, via the website and email address, is falsely purporting to trade from the address 13 Castle Street, St Helier, Jersey, JE2 3BT and is carrying on, or holding out as carrying on, deposit-taking business, financial service business and Schedule 2 business in Jersey when it is not registered with the JFSC.
The JFSC confirms the following:
- The impersonating entity, the website and email address are not connected in any way to the genuine Jersey registered company Areeva Private Trust Company Limited, based at 13 Castle Street, St Helier, Jersey, JE2 3BT or its service provider, Suntera Trustees (Jersey) Limited.
- The impersonating entity has never been registered, nor applied for registration, under the FS(J)L, BB(J)L or Supervisory Bodies Law. Therefore, any deposit-taking business, financial service business or Schedule 2 business, carried on by the impersonating entity, is in breach of Article 7 of the FS(J)L, Article 8 of the BB(J)L, and Article 10 of the Supervisory Bodies Law.
- From documentation held by the JFSC, the impersonating entity, website and email address display warning signs of being set up for fraudulent purposes.
Anyone who has had dealings with the impersonating entity is asked to contact the JFSC’s Enforcement team.
