AML/CFT Handbook consultation support

On 1 November 2021, we launched a consultation on proposed changes to our AML/CFT Handbooks.

These proposed changes will simplify the use our handbooks, making it easier to find the information required for all supervised persons in one place.

In the consultation, we advised that we would be providing a series of spreadsheets setting out the text of each existing AML/CFT Handbook for Part 1, Sections 1-10, stating where that text can be located within the Consolidated Handbook.

Using the spreadsheets

  • These spreadsheets only set out where text from the existing AML/CFT Handbooks can be located within the Consolidated Handbook. They do not account for any new content which has been added. Refer to the consultation for details of new additions to the Consolidated Handbook
  • Where references to legislation have needed to be updated, we have done so. Therefore, the references within the Consolidated Handbook may not necessarily be the same as those in the spreadsheets
  • We have identified some minor issues with the formatting of the Consolidated Handbook, such as incorrect paragraph or section numbering. Where these issues occur, we have added the correct number to the spreadsheets in brackets, e.g. Section 8.2.5 (8.3.1)
  • We have used a colour-coded key to indicate whether the text:
    • Substantively aligns with the Handbook for Regulated Financial Services Business and has been replicated in the Consolidated Handbook (green)
    • Has not been transferred to the Consolidated Handbook (red)
    • Was sector-specific but has now been integrated into Sections 1-10 of the Consolidated Handbook (blue) or
    • Remains in a sector-specific section in the Consolidated Handbook (purple).
