Public Statement

BNP Paribas Bank (the Scam Entity)

(Not connected in any way to BNP Paribas S.A., Jersey Branch or any other entity of the BNP Paribas Group)

accounts@bnparibas-es.com (the Email Address)

Banking Business (Jersey) Law 1991, as amended (BB(J)L)

The Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) issues this public statement pursuant to Article 48(2) of the BB(J)L.

This statement is made in order to warn members of the public against dealing with unauthorised financial service providers. The Scam Entity has not received authorisation to conduct deposit-taking business within the meaning of the BB(J)L, and has no link whatsoever with BNP Paribas S.A., Jersey Branch or any other entity of the BNP Paribas Group.

It appears from documentation held by the JFSC that the Scam Entity is falsely purporting to trade from an address of BNP Paribas Bank, 158, Anley Street St Helier, Jersey JE4 8RD Channel Islands and is carrying on, or holding out that it is carrying on, deposit-taking business in Jersey when it is not authorised to do so pursuant to the provisions of the BB(J)L.

The JFSC wishes the following to be known:

1. The Scam Entity and Email Address are not connected in any way to BNP Paribas S.A., Jersey Branch and or any other entity of the BNP Paribas Group. In Jersey, the BNP Paribas S.A., Jersey Branch is located at IFC 1, The Esplanade, St. Helier, Jersey JE1 5BP and is authorised by the JFSC to conduct regulated activities.

2. The Scam entity has never been registered, nor applied for registration, under the BB(J)L. Therefore any deposit-taking business, as defined in Article 3 of the BB(J)L and carried out by the Scam Entity, is in breach of Article 8 of the BB(J)L.

3. From documentation held by the JFSC, it appears the Scam Entity and the Email Address display warning signs of being set up for a fraudulent purpose.

All regulated businesses in Jersey are listed on our website.

Any person who has had dealings with the Scam Entity or the Email Address is requested to contact the JFSC.

For further enquiries please contact Barry Faudemer.
