2026 fees consultation feedback published
In August 2025, we consulted with regulated businesses and users of our registry services on our proposed fees for 2026. We proposed a general fee increase of 2.5%, with some exceptions detailed in the consultation.
Summary of feedback
General
- stakeholders broadly welcomed the 2.5% fee increase, noting it is below inflation, and the importance of maintaining financial sustainability
- positive feedback on publishing the consultation early and using a single, clear fee notice, supporting transparency and administrative efficiency
Alternative Investment Funds
- we received concerns around the proposed annual fee for Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) and will not proceed with this change
Schedule 2
- following your feedback, we will implement a simplified registration and fee structure for Schedule 2 General Partner and Limited partnership structures
- recent legislative changes have reclassified specific lenders as low-risk ‘local lenders’ who will move to a reduced fee regime
Next steps
The fee notice published with this feedback paper confirms our fees for 2026 will take effect from 1 January 2026.
We remain committed to fair, proportionate, and transparent fee structures, and look forward to continued collaboration with stakeholders in the year ahead.
