Megan Butler

Megan Butler joined the Board of Commissioners in June 2023.
Having operated at the most senior regulatory levels in the UK, including as Executive Director at the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Megan has an impressive track record of nurturing effective relationships across the industry, earned over a career spanning three decades.
In particular, she led the FCA’s workstream on anti-money laundering and was chosen to lead the firm facing regulatory response to some of the most complex problems in recent financial services history, from the Euro crisis to Brexit and COVID-19.
As well as having an enhanced understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks, Megan is a champion of diversity across the sector and is today recognised as one of the most influential female leaders in financial services. Megan is also currently a non-executive Director at Morgan Stanley International.
