Important change to sanctions email alerts

From 10 August 2026, we will stop sending separate JFSC sanctions email alerts. From this date, the Government of Jersey sanctions notices will be the single source of this information.

Supervised persons are already required to sign up to receive the government sanctions notices. By moving to a single source, we are eliminating duplication.

If your organisation relies on JFSC sanctions email alerts, please check that the right people are registered for the Government of Jersey sanctions notifications before 10 August 2026.

What happens next?

We will update Code of Practice 65 to reflect these arrangements on 31 October 2026 as follows:

Code of Practice 65 currently states: 

• A supervised person must sign up to receive sanctions e-mail alerts from the JFSC and sanctions notices from the Government of Jersey, which are publicly available on the Jersey Gazette – see the Government of Jersey Sanctions Notices Registration (gov.je) and the JFSC Sanctions Registration (jerseyfsc.org).

Effective from 31 October, this will be amended to:

• A supervised person must sign up to receive sanctions e-mail alerts from the JFSC and sanctions notices from the Government of Jersey, which are publicly available on the Jersey Gazette – see the Government of Jersey Sanctions Notices Registration (gov.je) and the JFSC Sanctions Registration (jerseyfsc.org).

Industry has shared feedback that Handbook changes are easier to manage when grouped into fewer, scheduled updates. As we already plan to update the Handbook in October to reflect Money Laundering Compliance Order and Reliance changes, we will incorporate the sanctions update at that time too. 

As the JFSC will no longer be sending out sanction alerts from 10 August, from this date supervised persons will be meeting their obligations in this area so long as are they are signed up to the Government of Jersey sanction alerts.
