Proceeds of Crime (Supervisory Bodies) (Jersey) Law 2008 (Supervisory Bodies Law)

The Jersey Financial Services Commission issues this public statement under Article 26(c) of the Supervisory Bodies Law to warn members of the public against dealing with unauthorised financial services businesses.

The JFSC considers that Mr Gibbs is falsely purporting to carry on, or is holding out as carrying on, Schedule 2 business (lending) in Jersey when he is not registered with the JFSC, pursuant to the provisions of the Supervisory Bodies Law.

Mr Gibbs has never been registered, nor applied for registration, under the Supervisory Bodies Law. Therefore, any Schedule 2 business (including lending), as defined in Schedule 2 of the Proceeds of Crime (Jersey) Law 1999 and carried on by Mr Gibbs, is in breach of Article 10 of the Supervisory Bodies Law.

Anyone who has had dealings with Mr Gibbs is asked to contact the JFSC’s Enforcement Division.
