Key changes for local businesses
The Government of Jersey has introduced a new law, the Financial Services (Disclosure of Provision of Information) (Jersey) Law 2020, which came into force on 6 January 2021 and requires you to give us more information.
Appoint a nominated person
Each business / company will need to appoint at least one eligible person as a nominated person.
For example, this may be you if you are a director or company secretary resident in Jersey and already submit documents to the Registry.
A nominated person can:
submit all information and documents to Registry on behalf of an business / company
have access to a business / company’s public and private information.
Provide significant person information
Under the new law, you need to provide us with additional information about your significant persons. The significant persons are the company secretary and all the directors. The transition application form in myRegistry will guide you through the information required.

We have replaced Easy Company Registry with myRegistry. You can register for myRegistry here.
Annual confirmation statement replaces the annual return
We have replaced the company annual return process with an annual confirmation statement.
Each company must submit an annual confirmation statement that confirms that the information provided to us is accurate. The confirmation statement is a read-only form that will show the information held on the register at that date.
Annual confirmation due date
Your first annual confirmation statement will be due by 30 June 2021.
Business names owners
Owners of registered business names will need to appoint a nominated person to submit any changes or to communicate with us via myRegistry. You must register a nominated person before you submit any changes on myRegistry.
No deadline or annual confirmation for business name owners
There is no deadline for owners of registered business names to appoint a nominated person. The annual confirmation statement and transition application is not applicable to registered business names.
Registration and changes
You must submit all registrations and changes through myRegistry. We will not accept any paper filings.
You will need to notify us of any changes to the beneficial owner, controller and significant person information within 21 days.
We only accept online payment via credit or debit card. We do not accept cash or cheque payments.
