We, together with other local agencies, deliver a series of presentations to school pupils about financial education.

This sessions is aimed at raising awareness at what techniques are used by scammers and fraudsters and what the Students can do to protect themselves/family and friends by using this information.

Year 10/11 – Risk v Reward and "Ponzi" Island Game |
|
This session builds upon previous sessions with regards to identifying whether the risks of a particular product are outweighed by the potential benefit. A game is then played where some students are ‘Sellers’ and others are ‘Buyers’ (either liberal e.g. YOLO Buyers or more conservative and ask more questions) ultimately making a decision whether they would invest in a Ponzi scheme.

Year 12/13 – Setting up a Financial Services Business and the ACE Matrix |

This session was originally created and presented for the enjoyment of business students. Each of the scenarios being applicable primarily for the financial services sector, but other sectors as well. This session gives the students an opportunity to critically analyse applications and make a determination as to granting that individual a licence and to assess what course of action would be most appropriate for those persons which have defaulted on their obligations.

Year 12/13 – 8 Part Short Course |
|
This short course is aimed at A-Level Students who wish to learn more about regulation and the financial services products which are used in Jersey. As 23% of the Jersey workforce work in finance, this could be of benefit to students who wish to pursue a career in finance.
