Majority of Jersey companies on track to meet annual confirmation statement deadline
With one day to go, most of the 33,000 companies registered in Jersey have successfully met, or are on track to meet, the deadline for submitting their annual confirmation statements.
This puts the Island in a strong position to ensure the accuracy of the data we hold about Jersey companies, ahead of the Register for Directors becoming public on 1 January 2022.
Since February, our Registry team has been supporting companies to move over to our new registry system, myRegistry. We have received positive feedback from those we have helped to set up their new accounts and complete their first confirmation statements.
We are aware of a small minority of companies that require some additional support and we are working with them to make sure they fulfil this legal requirement. We recognise this is a new process and some customers are experiencing difficulties - we are here to help.
What to do if you can’t meet the deadline
If you don’t think you are going to meet the deadline, we want to reassure you that there is no need to worry.
Make contact with us by 17:00 on 30 September to let us know your circumstances; as long as we hear from you and understand your reasons for not meeting the deadline, we can discuss next steps.
Our priority at this stage is making sure the data we hold for Jersey companies is accurate and up-to-date ahead of the Register of Directors and Significant Persons becoming public on 1 January 2022, rather than enforcing late fees.
How to contact us
Every year we experience a last minute rush from companies to meet the deadline and this year is no exception, despite the extended deadline. We are therefore looking after a significant volume of customers over the phone, by email and in-person at one-to-one appointments at our offices.
Our team is responding as quickly as possible to service requests and we will be in touch with customers to arrange support calls and appointments for those who need some extra help.
You shouldn’t worry if you don’t hear from us immediately and we reiterate that you will not incur late fees.
We cannot accept drop-ins at our offices – you need to book an appointment with us to speak to a member of the team.
As it’s so close to the deadline, we are experiencing a high volume of calls so please bear with us.
