Industry provides constructive feedback during webinar on proposed changes to our enforcement powers and process
More than 400 people tuned in to watch the webinar we hosted jointly with the Government of Jersey on proposed changes to our enforcement powers and processes.
The session was an opportunity for businesses and individuals to hear more about the two consultations that the Government and the JFSC are running concurrently on:
- proposals to expand the legislation for the civil financial penalties regime
- proposed changes to the JFSC’s decision-making process for imposing regulatory sanctions
Our Director of Enforcement, Kerry Petulla, and the Government’s Director of Financial Crime Strategy, George Pearmain, answered questions posed by Lisa Springate, Jersey Finance, on behalf of the audience.
Responses to the consultations
We received a significant number of constructive questions and feedback during the session, for which we would like to thank all of you who engaged.
We would strongly encourage you to provide formal responses to both consultations by 1 September so that your views are officially taken into consideration.
In particular, we would appreciate any suggestions you may have on how the proposed approaches could be changed, ensuring that we are able to meet international standards.
