THE COMMISSION

Codes of Practice

The Commission has prepared and issued Codes of Practice setting out the principles and detailed requirements that must be complied with in the conduct of financial services business. Each Code is issued and maintained using powers provided by legislation.

Principle 6 to a number of the Codes of Practice establishes general and specific notifications which must be made to the Commission.  To assist any persons required to comply with more than one Code of Practice the Commission has provided “at a glance tables” of the Principle 6 notifications. Several of the Codes shown below were amended with effect from 1 September 2016. Please click here to view a track change version of each Code against the version it superseded.

Code of Practice for Alternative Investment Funds and AIF Services Business - 1 September 2016

In addition, the Commission has prepared and issued Codes of Practice under Article 22 of the Proceeds of Crime (Supervisory Bodies) (Jersey) Law 2008 (the "Supervisory Bodies Law"). This provides for the Commission to prepare and issue Codes of Practice setting out the principles and detailed requirements that must be complied with by persons in relation to whom the Commission has supervisory functions, in order for those persons to meet certain requirements of the Supervisory Bodies Law and anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism legislation.

The Commission has prepared and issued four such Codes of Practice, which are referred to as “Handbooks”.
