Job Title: Trainee Manager

Reports to: Senior Supervision Manager - Investment Business (IB)

Salary Band: Band 4 (£27,100 - £38,650)

Purpose of Job

To ensure that all regulated entities which require proactive regulation, are operating in accordance with relevant legislation and best industry practice so as to ensure that: -

(1) the Island’s reputation as an international finance centre is safeguarded; and

(2) investors are properly protected.

Principal Accountabilities:

(1) Ensure all applications for registration are properly processed in accordance with Commission procedure.

(2) In accordance with Commission procedures, ensure all regulated entities comply with the relevant legislation, policies and guidance notes etc.

(3) To ensure the effectiveness of the Commission’s risk mitigation program in respect of regulated entities.

(4) Assist in the maintenance and development of the Commission procedures which enable (1), (2) and (3) above to be performed properly.

(5) To respond appropriately to all enquiries and complaints received, from both licensed entities and the public, within agreed maximum timescales.

(6) Assist in other work as directed by the Director, Deputy Director or Senior Manager.

Knowledge and Experience Required

The post holder must have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of persons, from professionals to complainants, in the capacity of consultant or relationship manager.  The ability to work well in a team environment is essential.  Good organisational and time management skills are also required for this post.  A relevant professional qualification and experience in the finance industry (especially the investment business sector) is preferable.
