Public Statement - Mossackfirstname.lastname@example.org
The Jersey Financial Services Commission (“the Commission”) has issued this public statement under Article 25(2) of the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998, as amended (the “Financial Services Law”).This statement is made in order to warn investors and others against dealing with unauthorised financial services providers. The persons named below have not received authorisation to conduct financial services business within the meaning of the Financial Services Law
The Commission believes that the operators of the email address Mossackemail@example.com (“the Email Address”), are carrying on, or holding out that they are carrying on, financial service business in Jersey when they are not authorised to do so pursuant to the provisions of the Financial Services Law. The operators of the Email Address are passing themselves off as being a company, Mossack Fonseca, which is regulated by the Commission for the conduct of financial service business. It should be noted that there is a genuine company called Mossack Fonseca & Co. (Jersey) Limited, part of the Mossack Fonseca group of companies, a bona-fide law firm and offshore company formation agent based in Panama and with representative offices in Jersey and other jurisdictions. The Email Address, and its operators, is not in any way connected to companies within the Mossack Fonseca group.
The Commission also wishes to alert members of the public that it is aware that bogus employment offers have been sent from the Email Address that falsely purport to originate from Mossack Fonseca.
The Commission wishes for the following to be known:
All regulated businesses in Jersey are listed on the Commission’s website, which can be accessed by clicking here.
Any person who has had dealings with the operators of the Email Address is requested to contact the Commission.
