Jersey Funds

A regulated Jersey fund is any fund in relation to which:

1. the Commission has issued a permit under the Collective Investment Funds (Jersey) Law 1988 (the “CIF(J)L”) – recognized fund; or
2. the Commission has issued a certificate under the CIF(J)L – unclassified fund

Unclassified funds that have been issued a certificate are further defined as:

  • Unclassified;
  • Unclassified – Expert, which denotes a collective investment fund
    that meets the criteria set out in the Jersey Expert Fund Guide;
  • Unclassified – Listed, which denotes a collective investment fund
    that meets the criteria set out in the Jersey Listed Fund Guide; and
  • Unclassified – Eligible Investor, which denotes a collective investment
    fund that meets the criteria set out in the Jersey Eligible Investor Fund Guide.

3. the Commission has issued a certificate under the Alternative Investment Funds (Jersey) Regulations 2012
(the “Regulations”) – AIF Regulations

Where a Jersey fund is also an alternative investment fund an AIF marker is displayed. Please note that where a Jersey fund has sub-funds the AIF marker denotes that one or more, but not necessarily all, of the sub-funds are AIF's.

The list of Jersey funds does not include unregulated funds, private schemes authorised under the Control of Borrowing (Jersey) Order 1958 or non-Jersey domiciled funds that are serviced from within the Island.
